Design Tips to Help You Make the Most of a Small Bathroom

Small Bathroom

If you have a small bathroom in your home, trying to find places for everything can feel like playing a game of Tetris.

If you have a small bathroom in your home, trying to find places for everything can feel like playing a game of Tetris. Keeping everything to code, striking the right balance between shower space and floor space, and figuring out where you will put the towels and toilet paper are just a few of the challenges of a small bathroom. Despite all of this, it is better to have the extra bathroom than to try and get by without enough bathrooms. Maximizing what space you do have is the key to unlocking your small bathroom’s full potential.

Put the Sink in the Corner

Even the smallest pedestal sink can disrupt the flow of your bathroom. Instead of putting it somewhere along the wall, install a sink in the corner of your small bathroom. This way, you won’t be constantly bumping into it whenever you’re in the room.

Install a Floating Vanity

A vanity with large cabinets underneath can take up a lot of available space in your small bathroom. Instead, opt for a floating vanity that will leave some room underneath for small things, but won’t take up half the room.

Choose a Larger Mirror

Mirrors are fantastic for making small spaces feel larger. For your small bathroom, a larger mirror will not only make it feel larger, but a larger mirror can also be shared between two people. This can make getting ready a much less time-consuming activity.

Put the Towel Bar on a Door

You will probably store the majority of your towels in a linen closet, but having a towel bar within easy reach of the sink and shower is quite useful. Many shower doors come equipped with a handle that can easily accommodate a towel. If yours does not, simply install a towel bar on the door of your shower.

Wall-Mounted Faucet

Choosing a faucet that mounts on the wall instead of on the sink itself will allow you to choose a smaller sink, which can really save space in your small bathroom.
